Joe South – Coming Down All Alone (brilliant song!) .
Joe South – Joe South.
Joe South (born Joseph Alfred Souter; February 28, 1940 – September 5, 2012) was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. Best known for his songwriting, South won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1970 for "Games People Play" and was again nominated for the award in 1972 for "Rose Garden". South had met and was encouraged by Bill Lowery, an Atlanta music publisher and radio personality.
Redirected from Hush (Joe South song)). Hush" is a song written by American composer and musician Joe South, for recording artist Billy Joe Royal, whose single peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 28 October – 11 November 1967, and No. 45 in Canada. South himself recorded the song in 1968, and included it on his second album, Games People Play. Deep Purple and Kula Shaker had later hits with covers of the song.
It's perhaps unsurprising, then, that his fourth, 1971's Joe South, was both less energetic and less impressive than what had preceded it. It's still a worthy record with his expected (and perhaps unsurpassed) knack for combining rock, country, and soul, though it marked no less than the third appearance in four albums of "Birds of a Feather.

These two albums showcase a unique talent: Joe South, the man who blazed the path of country rock'n'soul. With three rare bonus tracks including the simmering psychedelic 'Soul Raga' by South's band The Believers, this 24 track, 75 minute '2-for-1' is extraordinary value.
