Sudden Death" is a song by the American heavy metal band Megadeth. It was written by Dave Mustaine for inclusion in the 2010 music video game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, which was released on September 28, 2010 in North America.
Christmas on Death Row’ (1996). Death Row's Suge Knight-era dominance was cresting when the label posse got together for this album (minus Dr. Dre, who'd left Death Row the year it was recorded). Somewhat surprisingly, it's light on gangsta deviousness and heavy on spiritual uplift (see "Peaceful Christmas," by crooner Danny Boy) and straight, rather staid R&B takes on the classics by groups like 6 Feet Deep and Guess. But when he taps the nostalgic tug of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," it's mistletoe magic.
His Wicked Highness, born from disaster, to dominate and to kill A glistening, murder-machine False majesty standing perfectly still A blitzkrieg raining down evil on a mountain of black ice Like a good old fashioned beating within inches of your life. While alone and left abandoned With the sentence you've been handed All your angels will ignore you As your life flashes before you Even still you keep on fighting Through the thunder and the lightning And now Heaven sends its love Your sudden death from above. This is a track that was being worked on when I rejoined the band. The song was the album’s first single and was supposedly written exclusively for the video game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. It was well received and garnered the band a Grammy nomination, so the band decided to remix it and put it on the album.
Christmas in the Room, Stevens’ best Yuletide original, is about a couple trying to conjure the holiday spirit without all of the typical trappings: No parties planned, no place to go/It’s just the two of us alone. The bare instrumentation matches the mood, with Stevens’ acoustic guitar soundtracking a Christmas without mistletoe, malls, silver bells, Santa, or even family. The idea seems so simple and yet so stark: The holiday is what you make of it, and the spirit can be found in another person, within four walls. Listen: Sufjan Stevens: Christmas in the Room.
