Rockin' Chair is a 1975 crossover single by Gwen McCrae. The song is not to be confused with either Fats Domino's 1951 R&B hit of the same name or the 1929 "Rockin' Chair" by Hoagy Carmichael. Rockin' Chair" was McCrae's sole entry into the top 10 on both the soul and pop charts. The single hit number nine on the pop charts, and number one on the soul chart for one week. In Canada, "Rockin' Chair" spent two weeks at number 23.

This album marked the long-playing debut of Gwen McCrae, a sultry voiced singer who remains popular with soul music cultists today. Rockin' Chair collects the material that she had been recording for the Cat label, a subsidiary of disco giant TK Records.
