WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART Piano Concertos K. 413, K. 414 & K. 415 In the composer’s chamber music setting. Marie Kuijken & Veronica Kuijken fortepiano. Mozart conceived three piano-concerti . 13, 414 and 415 in 1782, one year after he had settled in Vienna as a more or less freelance musician. By then he had already composed four concertos for piano and orchestra, one for three (or two) pianos and orchestra, and another one for two pianos and orchestra. Mozart meant them, right from the start, to be issued in a chamber format for piano and string quartet as well. He cleverly constructed these concerti - which he composed for his ‘debut’ in Vienna - in such a way that the strings carry the heart of the matter, whereas the winds were assigned to adding ornamental elements which could be removed without amputating the beauty of the music.

Piano Concerto No. 13 In C, KV 415: Allegro. 8. 13 In C, KV 415: Andante. 9. 13 In C, KV 415: Rondeau. Performer: Patrick Dechorgnat. Orchestra: Henschel Quartet. Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Audio CD (October 10, 2000). This CD of three of Mozart's piano concertos, scored here for piano and string quartet by Wolfgang himself, achieves sublime, elegant perfection. Far more delicate, wistful and intimate than the usual full-orchestral versions, these great works recieve luminous, profound readings by the amazing Henscel quartet and their remarkable French co-pianist.
The Piano Concerto No. 415 (387b) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was composed in Vienna in 1782–83. It is the third of the first three full concertos Mozart composed for his subscription concerts. It consists of three movements: Allegro, in C major and common (C) time. Andante, in F major and 3/4 time. Allegro, in C major and 6/8 time. The average duration of performance of Concerte für das Pianoforte (vol. 2, n. 3), is 23 minutes.
Mozart conceived the 3 piano concerti KV 414, 413, and 415 in 1782, one year after he had settled in Vienna as a more or less free-lance musician. From onset, his idea was to get these works published; he obviously expected a positive response from the public, not only on the financial level but also as a composer and piano virtuoso.
