Dave Clark's "Time" is a concept album based on Dave Clark's 1986 musical Time. It was released in vinyl as a double LP (Catalog number: AMPM 1, EQ 5003) and in cassette format. It sold over two million copies and spawned four hit singles, one by Julian Lennon and two by Cliff Richard. Another song, "In My Defence", became a posthumous hit for Freddie Mercury in 1992.

For Dave Clark Five fans, the availability of this amazing band's music on CD even as compilations is a miracle. Because Clark inexplicably refused to re-release any DC5 albums after their 1970 split and didn't allow any music to surface until 1993, beginning with this great double CD, only fans from the day remembered him, and possibly their kids. The damage was musically extensive: the first half of the '60's were dominated first by the Beach Boys, and a number of dance performers like Chubby Checker during the twist craze, Ray Charles, surf music and The Four Seasons

The Dave Clark Five were an English rock and roll band formed in Tottenham in 1957. In January 1964 they had their first UK top ten single, "Glad All Over", which knocked the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" off the top of the UK Singles Chart. It peaked at number 6 in the United States in April 1964. Although this was their only UK they topped the US chart in December 1965, with their cover of Bobby Day's "Over And Over"
Ten of the twelve tracks were issued as the DC5's second US album The Dave Clark Five Return!. The remaining two ("She's All Mine" and "Time") had already been featured on their first US LP Glad All Over.
Dave Clark replaced the song "Funny" with a song called "I Miss You," which was a B-side released two years after this album. Rather petty, if true.
