Restless is an espionage novel written by William Boyd, published in 2006. It won the Costa Prize for fiction. The novel depicts the tale of a young woman who discovers that her mother was recruited as a spy during World War II. The book continually switches between time periods and, in doing so, from first to third person. According to the author, it is one of the first novels to deal with the British Security Coordination service in New York

British author William Boyd's novel of war and espionage, "Restless", is set as dual voiced. Part is written in the early days of WW2, while the other is written in mid-1970s Oxford. It's a tricky thing for a writer to do, but William Boyd's been writing for a while now, and he carries it off pretty well. Boyd's story is one that's been written quite often. An obscure branch of British intelligence recruits a young woman as an agent. This one - Eva Delectorskaya - is the half-English/half Russian woman, living in Paris with her family.

22 March d it’s absolutely fantastic. I wouldn’t normally read a book about a Scottish piano tuner in the 1890s but of course I was going to read it, as Will wrote it!
