The River" is a song written and recorded by Bruce Springsteen, accompanied by the E Street Band, in 1979. The title track of his fifth album, it was a hit single in parts of Europe in 1981; it reached No. 25 in the Netherlands, and the top 10 in both Sweden and Norway. Its B-side was either "Independence Day" or "Ramrod", depending on the country of release.

Lyrics to "Drag The River" song by Morrissey: Drag the river and within her you may find a sliver Of the one of whom you speak and whom they seek. Drag the river and within her you may find a sliver Of the one of whom you speak and whom they seek she would gaze into the river as we’d look into a mirror. And her reflection would beckon her to Join me join me join me join me Happy we will be. On the coastal shore I’m sure you’d break down if you saw And abhorrent torrent crashing as it pours The counter current holds a secret at the rise of tides. Thanks to Thomas Mulholland for correcting these lyrics. Writer(s): STEVEN PATRICK MORRISSEY, MARTIN JAMES BOORER. album: "World Peace Is None Of Your Business" (2014).
