The song 'Litany: I. Adagio' by 武満徹 has a tempo of 128 beats per minute (BPM) on 'Complete piano works'.

Performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra conducted by Hiroyuki Iwaki, Gitimalya is scored for marimba and orchestra and was composed in 1974. One of the composer's most beautifully orchestrated pieces, "Marginalia" was composed in 1976 for the 50th anniversary of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and was inspired by poems and paintings by Edgar Allen Poe, Sam Francis and Paul Klee. The composer was especially drawn to the meaning of marginalia as "water" which he associates in this and several other works with the behavior of sound.

Tōru Takemitsu (武満 徹 Takemitsu Tōru, October 8, 1930–February 20, 1996) was a Japanese composer of music, who explored the compositional principles of Western classical music and his native Japanese tradition both in isolation and in combination. He also listened to jazz from his father's ample collection. ПодписатьсяПодпискаПодписка.

78 Winter, F/4. stage of his career, however, when Takemitsu was still very much in sympathy with the aesthetics of the avant-garde, the expansion is most noticeable in the transference to large forces of the same type of instrumental experimentation already encountered in works for smaller media. Thus in Crossing the brass players are required to speak the text Things are dierent into their instruments, and in Cassiopeia they are instructed to blow into the tubing of their instruments without mouthpieces. Like such closely coeval works as Gitimalya and Marginalia, Quatrain too has about it something of a transitional quality. Partly perhaps as a result of Takemitsus intention to pay homage to Messiaen, much of the instrumental sonority has a rapturous melliuousness which palpably looks forward to the composers later orchestral manner.
