Description

Album · 2004 · 13 Songs. Since forming the Holmes Brothers with drummer Popsy Dixon in 1979, the Harlem-based trio has ricocheted between blues and gospel, creating an aesthetic that's kin to the Staple Singers'. What's surprising after all these years is how they've maintained a thirst for fresh inspiration, which they find here in songs by Bob Marley Hank Williams, and Texas tunesmith Townes Van Zandt.

Beloved roots trio THE HOLMES BROTHERS have garnered critical raves and devoted fans with their timeless, heartfelt blend of gospel-drenched blues, soul, funk and country, highlighted by rapturous harmonizing. Their last three releases have combined sales over 68,000 units worldwide. FEED MY SOUL is the deepest, most original and satisfying album of the Holmes Brothers’ career. It’s a joyous, triumphant celebration of love, family and faith in the face of adversity, sparked by Wendell Holmes’ recent victory over cancer.
