Description

Album · 2017 · 10 Songs. Peach Larkin Poe. Alternative.

Larkin Poe is an American roots rock band from Atlanta, GA fronted by sisters Rebecca Lovell (born January 30, 1991) and Megan Lovell (born May 12, 1989). Featuring strong southern harmonies, heavy electric guitar riffs, and slide guitar, they are often touted as "the little sisters of the Allman Brothers". The band performed at the 2014 and 2016 Glastonbury Festival, and were voted "Best Discovery of Glastonbury 2014" by the UK's The Observer.

PEACH is a raw, sparse album filled with the soul and grit sorely missing on the charts today. The CD contains five original tunes and five classic blues covers played with a southern flavor that will appeal to lovers of both blues and classic rock. The two sisters played all instruments on every track with no other musicians. Megan supplies most of the guitar solos throughout the album with her fine lap steel/slide playing, and Rebecca is a powerhouse blues-rock singer who can belt or croon with great tone while supplying strong rhythm guitar. Larkin Poe is not totally stuck in the sounds of the past either. Wanted Woman is a dynamic, high energy rocker dripping with attitude that might be the strongest original tune on the CD.

Originally from Atlanta and currently living in Nashville, they are descendants of tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allan Poe. PRESS. This isn’t your basic Stevie Ray Vaughan-styled blistering blues rock.

Larkin Poe are sisters, Rebecca & Megan Lovell. They first started out in 2005 and created a bluegrass band called The Lovell Sisters with their other sister, Jessica Lovell. The Lovell Sisters released 2 independent albums and toured for numerous years before disbanding. In 2010, Rebecca and Megan decided to have a fresh start and create Larkin Poe and, well, the rest is history for the girls. Rebecca sings and plays electric guitar and Megan sings backing and plays electric.
