Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Oddysey by VA Composer: Györgi Ligeti Performer(s): Francis Travis, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

This was a totally random score for me. It initially caught my eye because of the bizarre looking cover art which is obviously meant to be some kind of spoof or parody of the "Last Supper", but instead of Christ it depicts what apparently is supposed to be a "yuppie" surrounded by a bunch of other yuppie disciples and on the table in front of him is a dinner plate with.

This was a totally random score for me. Gofigure, right? Well I had absolutely no idea what type of music it might containand the artwork strange as it is, just simply did not contain any of the tokenclues that would normally help me to speculate about it in general. Needlessto say I was intrigued when I first listened to it and realized that it was sometotally mid-80's effort to combine electro-funk with rock and even modern soulto a certain degree but some raw sensibilities that lend themselves towardsan overall desired effect. This gem of an LP seems to be flying way underthe radar up to this point. My copy is the only one I have ever encounteredso I know it's not common to find in the wild, but surprisingly there are a fewcopies for sale in the DM that are dog cheap so you may want to considergrabbing one before it becomes a sought after grail that sells for $$$.
