The Record is the debut studio album by the American hardcore punk band Fear, released May 16, 1982 by Slash Records. It was produced by Gary Lubow. The album was reissued on CD in 2007 with the single "Fuck Christmas" as a bonus track. The album has been regarded as Fear's best album and as a classic album of the 1980s Los Angeles hardcore punk scene.

Fear is the fourth solo studio album by Welsh musician John Cale, released on 1 October 1974 by Island Records. Fear is the first of Cale's three studio albums for Island Records, all of which were released in a period of just over a year. During this time Cale was also producing records for other artists, working on albums such as Horses by Patti Smith, one of the most influential of all proto-punk records.

After a short hiatus following Fear Factory’s Transgression album, the band came roaring back in 2010 with Mechanize. Fear Factory has a record done. It's delivered to the label. We're just waiting for some legal technicalities. The record will be out next year, Bell reveals to .

A little about the band. Fear were one of the best, and certainly most notorious bands of the . The words 15 songs in 27 minutes might go a long way to describe the way this album and its individual songs zip by. Even though they are a punk band from . this is NOT Black Flag or Cirlce Jerks. In fact, it could be said that Fear is the only . punk band that cannot be conceivably accused of having no musical chops. Although Fear are perhaps most famous for the song I Love Livin' In the City, or maybe more identifiable today for Lets Have A War, which has been covered by A Perfect Circle, they really didnt put a bad tune on The Record.
