by St. Greg with the sensational New Waves, also known as the Dready Boys in the. debut album Yardstick took the world of reggae music by. Nigeria. and in 1991 released their debut album titled "Yardstick".

This is the New Waves at their best. And interestingly, it is a gospel song that centers on the activities of the Holy Spirit in us and for us. I was in awe watching these boys who have now turned men, all married with families doing music in a way that am sure will make them relevant even in the next 30 years. I can't describe it enough, even though I had a first hand experience! All I need to say is "get ready for East Wind," both the audio and video releases happening on Friday, 9th of March @ 17:00 GMT+1 (5pm Nigerian Time).

Dready was as ubiquitous as the bowl cut in British schools during the 1990s. He could be found emblazoned on bombers, record bags, and hoodies, doodled in the margins of exercise books and scratched into toilet cubicle doors. It was in The Oasis Centre, an alternative shopping hub in the city, that he first met Christopher Carpenter. The Oasis was something of a draw for creative types, much like the King's Road in London had been around the birth of punk, and Carpenter had a small shop there in which Sidlaukas liked to hang out and draw. I was imitating the big boys in much the same way Herbie was imitating Dready. I was a cheap knockoff.
